The butter cow and its calf are officially dubbed Scarlet and Grayce, according to NBC4. The contest was run on Twitter and people could tweet their favorite butter cow name. “LeButter James” and “Johnny Mooziel” were some of the names that came up during the contest but weren’t the winners this year. The rest of the sculptures relate to Ohio, like a carnation for the state flower and tomatoes for Ohio’s production of the fruit.

Yes this is a real thing (and a long standing tradition). This lonely butter cow is without a name, and as all good parents do, The American Dairy Association Mideast is crowdsourcing to find the perfect fit. Bessie? Moolly? Since Monday, entries can be submitted via Twitter with #ButterCowNameGame. Winners will be invited to the unveiling July 22 and as well as given prizes and free tickets to the fair, according to NBC4.
