It’s here. It’s finally here. Sweetwater Brewing is officially flowing in Columbus and as the city rejoices, some have prepared celebrations for the newest addition to the Columbus beer lineup. Monday there will be Sweetwater beer (six choice) along with food pairings at the Whole Foods in Dublin. Tuesday, Woodlands Tavern has the official Sweetwater shindig and members of Sweetwater will be at the bar as well. Wednesday 16-bit is preparing video game challenges to pair with the booze.

Begin the countdown for SweetWater in Cbus

This summer, Atlanta-based SweetWater Brewing decided to move north and begin distributing its beer in the main cities in Ohio. The countdown to the flow of SweetWater is just a week away for Columbus (a little longer for other cities). The set date for Columbus is Oct. 6, and the city is welcoming the booze with open arms. Woodlands Tavern is holding a release party for the big day.

Columbus’ love for booze woos SweetWater Brewing Co.

Beer and Ohio tend to go hand in hand, particularly in Columbus as the city tries to up its street cred with craft breweries opening left and right. SweetWater Brewing Company out of Atlanta now has its sights set on the heart of the midwest. The company will start distribution in Ohio’s eight largest cities, meaning Columbus (the largest) will be distributing the southern beer by the end of the summer. “We feel now is the perfect time for us to tell our story and bring our award-winning brands to the Buckeye State to further complement their already established craft lineup,” Jeff Chassner, from SweetWater Brewing Company told the Dayton Business Journal.
