Local wines coming together

Two local wineries are coming together. Wyandotte Winery in northeast Columbus has bought Rockside Vineyards in Lancaster. “When Wyandotte was built in 1977, this was all field and forest up here,” co-owner Robin Coolidge told Columbus Business First. “We love it, but there is no room to grow.” The Lancaster vineyard has about 4.5 acres of land that is currently functioning as a vineyard and 17 more unused acres. Even with this acquisition, the wines themselves won’t change too much, and Coolidge isn’t looking to leave Westerville. But with more land there will be more opportunities for both brands to grow.
