“Donut Showdown” on the Cooking Channel has named a local their winner. Similar in structure to many cooking shows, the show has three competitors who compete in a round with unknown ingredients and one is eliminated. The two finalists then go head to head to create a donut that’s part of the “theme” and a winner is chosen. Locals at Destination Donuts took home the win on last night’s episode. Heather Morris, the chef, has a shop in the North Market and anyone who watched (or didn’t) can try her winning product in person. She uses organic milk, free range eggs and locally sourced ingredients and doesn’t put in any preservatives, additives or food coloring in her donuts.
