Peet’s Coffee and Tea calling it quits

Peet’s Coffee and Tea apparently judged Columbus too quickly, thinking its California based coffee chain would do better than it has, but alas, Peet’s coffee wasn’t as successful, and the company has decided to shut down seven of its Ohio locations, two of which are in Columbus. The two shops getting the axe are the Gahanna location at 1370 Hamilton Road and the downtown one at 41 S High St., according to Columbus Business First. There will still be Peet’s around the city, just two less. According to the paper, the decision was made to cut out the least successful of the bunch, after a year in evaluation.
