Columbus is about the get a little less caffeinated. Peet’s Coffee and Tea is leaving Ohio. The California-chain is closing its remaining six Ohio locations, which includes its 2 Columbus spots in Clintonville and Upper Arlington. These closures are part of a larger Midwest push that will also close all Peet’s in Michigan and Pennsylvania. Peet’s opened five Columbus area stores in 2013, by taking the spots formerly held by Caribou Coffee. The decision to close all the locations came after the company said the stores did not meet performance expectations.
Looks like I’ll be reloading that Starbucks giftcard instead now that my coffee options are getting fewer.
