Virginia setting up for Stone Brewing too
Columbus isn’t alone in the rat race for Stone Brewing’s newest brewery east of the Mississippi. Richmond, Va. is also a front runner (supposedly), and is pulling out all the stops for the lucrative brewery. (Let’s be serious though, any city would start tripping over itself for $60 million.) Recently, Richmond has attempted to push through an initiative to use $250,000 in order to “advance economic development initiatives,” according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch. While it wasn’t specifically said what the money was allocated toward though. Officials in Richmond are also running about attempting to rezone a site that the brewery apparently had its eyes on. Odds are, the California brewers are enjoying this much beer frenzy surrounding them.
