Monday morning, lawyers duked it out on whether or not the rollbacks to the early voting times were illegal or not. The lawyer for the NAACP and League of Women Voters of Ohio argued the reduced times are illegal and hurt blacks’ voting ability, because of the group’s higher use of in-person voting. The lawyer’s request is to forbid trimming voting hours. On the other side are lawyers for Gov. John Kasich and Secretary of State Jon Husted, who have said that Ohio has one of the most liberal voting systems, the Dispatch reported.
