So far this year, the unemployment rate has done nothing but drop, until now. Friday morning new figures were released showing the first rise in unemployment this year. The rate went up to 5.7 percent in July verses the 5.5 percent it had been in the two months before. The report also showed that employers were cutting jobs, according to the Dispatch. While the small percentage increase doesn’t seem large, that’s 7,000 more Ohio workers that are out of a job. The rate though is still well under October’s 7.4 percent last year.
