Tuesday morning, the Franklin County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved for those who use food stamps to use them at farmers markets around the city. Previously the program couldn’t be utilized at farmers markets, but now users will receive up to $10 on an electronic debit card to bring to one of the six participating markets where they will receive $20 in tokens to spend. The commissioners have approved about $10,000 in spending for the program, according to the Dispatch.
