A women’s activist group called UltraViolet has been pushing a campaign into airports showing women’s treatment in Ohio, and CMH is among several airports in the state to reject the ad. The airports have declined showing the ads because of they are of political nature. “In an effort to maintain a politically neutral and inviting atmosphere for travelers, it’s very common practice for airports to have policies that prohibit advertising of a political nature. Port Columbus also has this no-political-advertising policy so this advertising opportunity was declined,” a spokeswoman for Port Columbus told Columbus Business First. The ad says women are paid $0.77 to every man’s dollar and that women are not promised paid maternity leave, among other things.
