Costly road salt in Upper Arlington
Not only is Upper Arlington paying more for salt for the roads this year, they are also shelling out some cash just to have it delivered. An additional $25,000 will be needed for the salt just to get to Upper Arlington. Monday the council approved spending up to $105,000 to get the salt to the city. After the polar vortex last year, most of the Midwest is running low on salt and UA has about 700 pounds in storage, the Dispatch reported.
