A long neglected neighborhood is getting a bit of TLC on the south side. Wednesday morning both Governor John Kasich and Mayor Michael Coleman presided over the groundbreaking ceremony at the newest community social services center that was once Reeb Elementary School. Through the center’s transformation it will contain a Boys and Girls Club, the South Side Learning and Development Center and job training services in addition to serving meals to the community’s poor and offering GED classes. “This neighborhood had been neglected for too many years,” Coleman said at the ceremony, the Dispatch reported. The facelift to the 110-year-old building is supposed to create center that is an anchor for the neighborhood.
