Millions lost? Band scandal has alumnus questioning donations

Alumnus Fred Portner has three degrees from Ohio State, met his wife at the school and has already dumped a sizable $5 million into the laps of OSU officials for Fisher College of Business. The scandal that has been stamped across the band for weeks has weighed on Portner’s mind when considering future donations. “I have been in senior level business decisions all my life. I think I know decision makers and poor decision makers, and the way this decision on Jon Waters was handled is abominable,” Portner said, according to NBC4. “I said to myself, ‘Do I want them making those kinds of decisions on major donations I would make?’ Absolutely not.”
