After Jonathan Waters watched OSU president Drake’s speech, he and his lawyer said they might look for a settlement with the university, and it could be a costly one. His lawyer noted the Jim O’Brien case (fired OSU men’s basketball coach) and his settlement with the school panned out to be $2.4 million, and Waters’ lawyer thinks this case is even more serious. A lawsuit still isn’t out the question either, reported NBC4. Attorney David Axelrod said he might pursue a case for defamation and lack of due process under Title IX.
These new developments are also surrounded by the new information that he was praised in his yearly review, even called “courageous” in fixing problems (reported by the Dispatch).
