In a conference call discussing second quarter earnings, the topic of sales in the upcoming months came up. The answer: why wouldn’t we have sales again this year?

Victoria’s Secret, part of L Brands, did better than projected by Wall Street and with that bit of extra earning in the second quarter, the company can afford to roll out extra deals to bring in more shoppers when the holidays come around. “What we’ve done at Victoria’s Secret and Pink is focus on various scenarios,” Sharen Turney, CEO and president of Victoria’s Secret said, according to the Dispatch. “ If we have to turn on (discounting), we’re ready. Our inventory is so controlled and we’re able to chase fashion even more effectively this holiday season.
