Nationwide Children’s unveils two new projects and $130M price tag

Nationwide Children’s Hospital has released details on its two new medical projects, as well as their combined $130 million cost. The hospital spent a few years getting the land across Parsons Ave. In a press release, the hospital stated that the new buildings “will help to decompress faculty offices and current outpatient clinics which have outgrown their available space on the hospital’s campus.”

The first building will be the Livingston Ambulatory Center. The $85 million, six story, 200,000 square-foot project is expected to begin construction in Feb. 2015. It will house ambulatory services like primary care, dental services, behavioral health, dermatology, adolescent medicine, sports rehab, the Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition, and rotating clinics. It’s expected to have more than 100,000 patient visits annually.

The second building will be the Faculty Office Building. The $45 million, six story, 150,000 square-foot project has already started construction. It will house academic offices being relocated from the hospital’s main campus to accommodate medical staff growth. There will also be a retail space on the first floor. A tunnel under Livingston Ave. will connect the hospital’s main campus to the building, the 1,800-space employee parking garage, the Center for Family Safety and Healing, and the Ronald McDonald House.
