Changes coming for UberX + Lyft? City Council deciding
City officials yelled out in protest as the pink mustached cars and UberX’s sleek rides took to the city. Without the same regulations that other transportation services had, how could anyone be certain they weren’t jumping into a car with a crazed maniac? The city is already suing both companies (both of which are still pending) after officials said that both companies had unlicensed vehicles for hire and now the City Council will vote if these types of services should require a city background check, insurance requirements, car inspections as well as a city license, according to the Dispatch.
