Ohio State is now out two quarterbacks. Redshirt-freshman J.T. Barrett was supposed to do nothing more than fill the shoes of Braxton Miller following the two-time Big Ten MVP’s shoulder surgery that rendered him out for the entire season. Barrett though ended up dominating the field, trumping record after record for the Buckeyes, but after Saturday’s injury, he too will be out for the season. He had surgery on his ankle on Sunday morning meaning he will be absent from the Big Ten Championship. “We lost a Heisman candidate today,” coach Urban Meyer said following the game. According to cleveland.com, Meyer said the surgery was successful and a plate was placed on his ankle. Barrett might be limited in the spring, but should be back on the field by next season.

In the mean time Cardale Jones, the 6 foot 5 inch athelete from Cleveland, will taking over as quarterback. He’s had some game time this season but lost his position as back up quarterback to Barrett shortly before Miller was injured.
