Noah Spence has been named as permanently ineligible by the Big Ten following his failed drug tests for ecstasy. He had appealed for reinstatement but that hope was squashed, and in a statement AD Gene Smith said, “Ohio State junior student-athlete Noah Spence has been declared permanently ineligible from all intercollegiate athletics competition by the Big Ten Conference … While we are disappointed in the outcome, we are pleased that Noah has come a long way and we are very proud of the progress he has made with regard to his health.”

On his Twitter account he has said he will be moving on to new things and has mentioned entering the draft.

Could Noah Spence come back to the Buckeyes?

After Noah Spence failed another drug test for testing positive for ecstasy, the Buckeyes lost one of their top defensive ends, but an Ohio State alumnus tweeted out somewhat surprising news.

His later tweets said that Spence himself had told him the last three games is what his goal is and the university promptly responded that they were not aware of that news. Spence’s appeal hearing is set for Tuesday, but it seems highly unlikely that he will be reinstated for the final three games of the season.
