Forcing a jury to imagine a complex crime scene is looking like it might be a thing of the past. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is beginning to use 3D laser scanners to scan a crime scene and record a realistic picture of how the room looked. According to WTVN, the scanner is set up on a tripod and moves in a complete circle while taking measurements and hundreds of photos. Agents can then make a video that takes a viewer through the scene of the crime.
