Pedal to the metal as Bike Lady gets help from inmates
UPDATE: The Bike Lady, Kate Koch, has spend the past several Christmases donating bikes for Columbus foster kids. And this year she had some special help. Two inmate organizations at the Pickaway County Correctional Institute are helping Koch by assembling about 700 bikes and by raising over $4,000 for her nonprofit. Several hundred of the bikes were given to Franklin County Children Services today for their Holiday Wish Program.

Bike lady steps in for Santa
It seems Santa isn’t the only one who can leave a shiny new bike under the tree. Kate Koch, known as The Bike Lady, has been working to bring holiday cheer to Columbus foster children. With the help of Franklin County Children’s Services, and outside donations, Koch was able to give 1,200 bikes to foster kids last year. This year, she hopes to reach her goal of 1,400 and provide helmets and bikes to more of Columbus’ foster children.
