Bill gets committee approval, would repeal Common Core

A committee voted to approve a bill that would remove Common Core from education standards. House Bill 597 would still have to be approved by the entire house and then also make its way to Governor Kasich. The committee voted, 7-2, to approve the bill. The idea of Common Core has been heavily debated lately and whether or not a new standard should be imposed for schools.
