Thursday a bridge opened up connecting to parts of the city that had been cut off by the interstate for years: King Lincoln district and downtown. The bridge includes a green space as well as a “wall of fame” art piece, depicting famous people from the King Lincoln district. The bridge is designed to close the gap between the predominately African American area and downtown and bring revived life and business growth to the area.
