Calling all crossing guards
It’s not just chickens that cross the street. Lots of students in the Columbus cross the street to get to school and Grandview Heights is trying to make sure they stay safe. The city is asking local residents to serve as school crossing guards. While most of the crossing guard posts are covered, Linda Wheeler, who supervises the program, wants to ensure that all intersections are covered and to provide substitute crossing guards if necessary. Wheeler said, “We’re looking for people who would be able and willing to come out every day, even when it’s raining or snowing.”
