Harrison West getting a new (maybe affordable) apartment complex
Construction is starting soon for a new apartment complex in Harrison West. The 144-unit Trotter’s Gate will be made up of six three-story buildings with a clubhouse and a pool (for the fancy kids of Harrison West). What might actually be different from every other new, swanky apartment complex is that the owner is hoping to make these units affordable versus the skyrocketing rent prices that have become synonymous with the growing area. Because the units are beginning construction at the tail end of summer, the timeline is shaky with a finalization date hinging on a winter that doesn’t break the spirits of Columbusites (like last winter) and make construction a living nightmare, but according to Columbus Underground, the units could have residents as early as next summer.
