How to avoid the panic of losing a child at Red, White and BOOM
It happens every year, and every year it’s just as hard. Parents lose their child in the crowd containing in the masses of Red, White and BOOM! Columbus Police, attempting to curb parents’ panic and pounding hearts have made a program to help find any little nugget that wanders off without parental permission. There will be five booths at the festival that will give out ID bracelets for kids as well as forms parents can fill out for the police with all essential information. “In a controlled environment the parents will remember everything, but you put a little bit of panic of you losing your child in a very large crowd panic sets in and they forget the basic things such as what is my child wearing,” Columbus Police Public Information Officer Sgt. Rich Weiner, told NBC4.
