Students across Columbus returned to school this week as the summer sizzled to an end, and school work began once more. But for this year’s freshmen class, there are different requirements in order to graduate. These students will no longer need to take the Ohio Graduation Test, but instead will take a final course exam (a total of seven exams) throughout their tenure as high school students. For each and every one of those tests, students will need a so called “graduation score.” If not, they will have to prove knowledge through a certain score on a college entrance exam, or through a trade license. Additionally, the state will foot the bill for the student’s first ACT test as juniors, the Dispatch reported.
