If the North Pole doesn’t work out, Santa might consider moving to Ohio

It seems Ohio is the 10th best state for Santa, if the North Pole isn’t working out (and what with real estate prices there, you can blame the big man for looking elsewhere.) The real estate blog Estately.com ranked all 50 states to see where Santa might feel most at home by using seven categories:

  1. Cookie stores per capita
  2. Suitable habitat for reindeer
  3. Strong manufacturing sector
  4. Eggnog enthusiasm
  5. Proximity to family (residents with last name “Kringle”)
  6. Expressed interest in Santa Claus on Facebook
  7. Milk production per capita

Ohio snagged the 10th best spot because of its cookie stores per capita and strong manufacturing. (third highest and seventh in the nation). Keep in mind that if Santa moves onto your block, it’s probably a good idea to give him an (obligatory) invite to the neighborhood holiday party – or else you might be on the naughty list for a long time,
