Jim Tressel stepping in as leader of Youngstown State
Jim Tressel was once the famed leader of the Ohio State football team, but was also plagued by scandal and inappropriate benefits and eventually resigned in 2011, which at times seemed to overshadow his tenure as coach before the incident. Monday at 2 p.m., Tressel will officially take the office as the Youngstown State University President, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He was named to the position in May after working in other academic posts (executive vice president for student success at the University of Akron), and has been working since July, but has yet to be formally installed in the presidential position. Monday’s ceremony will include taking the oath and giving an address, as he moves into a new line of work post-Ohio State scandal.
