A Columbus lawyer has been under heavy investigation and has been indicted for stealing from legally incompetent people that he was caring for. As a lawyer, Paul Kormanik, was the legal guardian for many, and cared for more people than nearly any one else in the nation. “This defendant betrayed his wards, deceived the court, and manipulated the guardianship system in order to pad his bank account with money he was not entitled to,” Attorney General Mike DeWine said. Kormanik has been accused of withdrawing money from deceased clients’ accounts and transferring it to his own, totaling $41,000 from two of his wards.
