Local musician, Joey Blackheart of The Girls! passes away
Friday, local band The Girls! announced the death of member Joey Blackheart who played lead guitar for the group. “Our best friend and bandmate, Joey Blackheart, passed away on Wednesday. We are all a mess right now. Everyone please be safe,” the post on the band’s Facebook page read. Fans and admirers have commented on the page expressing their condolences for the band. The power pop group has been a local staple since 2011.
