Man charged with death of tow truck driver

Brian Spencer has been charged in the death of the tow truck driver John W. Carpenter, Jr., who was helping a disabled car on the side of the road on Sept. 22. He has been charged with two felony counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, two misdemeanor counts of operating a moving vehicle while under the influence, and one felony count of drug possession. According to the indictment, Spencer had oxycodone and marijuana in his system at the time of the crash. He is accused of having killed Carpenter in a hit and run.
