A man was sentenced to 24 years in prison for beating his grandfather until he died. When police arrived on the scene in Oct. 2012, the grandfather was pronounced dead at the scene. Monday morning, Matthew Kasee apologized for killing the elderly man. He said he had been under the influence of drugs when he killed his grandfather. His attorney said the motive behind the beating was to feed his heroin addiction, and police said he had gone to his grandfather’s home to rob him, the Dispatch reported. His sentence was in light of his guilty plea to involuntary manslaughter, aggravated robbery and burglary.
