Polar Vortex: Company charges more for already abysmal weather
The Polar Vortex’s name brought giggles to everyone at the seemingly dramatic title—that is until it didn’t seem dramatic enough. It was a northerner’s nightmare and FirstEnergy Solutions capitalized on the shivering bodies across the state. According to Columbus Business First, an Ohio school group has joined a group against the energy company, complaining against the extra charge FirstEnergy Solutions tacked on to fixed rate plans because of the Polar Vortex. The school group, Power4Schools complained to Public Utilities Commission of Ohio because of the charge.
