Selling federal property lands former Cbus cop in prison
A former Columbus officer was sentenced to 2 and 1/2 years in prison Friday morning for one count of embezzling and one count of stealing federal property. Steven E. Dean also had to fork over $118,000 in assets after taking military-surplus equipment, according to the Dispatch. After Dean was investigated it was discovered he had been stealing the surplus equipment for personal use or sometime even scrapping it and keeping the profits.
