Shoppers love Express outlet stores…a lot
Express launched a set of outlet stores this year and it blew through its expectations. The stores actually doubled their expectations. Express had projected its outlet stores to have sales at around $30 million. Instead the stores are expected to sell between $55 million to $60 million by the end of the year. CEO Michael Weiss said in a conference call Wednesday that the customer response was “immediate and enthusiastic,” Columbus Business First reported.
