Since 2007, thousands of calls to the 311 complaint call center have been ignored. While the nearly 6,500 calls only represent a fraction of the calls that have been taken (less than 1 percent) that’s still thousands of complaints that go unheard, the Dispatch reported. Since the ignored calls surface, Mayor Michael Coleman has mandated that all calls not answered are sent in a report to his office. Needless to say, he was less than pleased about the issue. “I am beyond angry, and I’m mad as hell that those 6,000 haven’t been responded to,” Coleman said, the paper reported.
