Amid backlash, Victoria’s Secret changes ad

With models standing across the ad with the text “The Perfect ‘Body'” women noticed the verbiage. While yes, the line they were promoting was called “Body” it didn’t seem to be fooling anyone about what it really meant. A petition went around on change.org and Victoria’s Secret has subsequently changed the ad to read “A Body For Every Body.” While it’s not an apology which the petition also asked for it is a change.

Some not pleased with new Victoria’s Secret campaign

Columbus-based Victoria’s Secret has hit criticism in their latest ad. The ad features ten models with the words “The Perfect ‘Body.'” For many, those models don’t represent the “perfect body” and have said it is damaging to girls’ and women’s personal body image. A petition is circling on change.org is asking for an apology. “We would like Victoria’s Secret to apologise and take responsibility for the unhealthy and damaging message that their wording ‘The Perfect ‘Body’’ sends out to society about women’s bodies and how they should be judged,” the petition reads.
