Sunday, the Ohio State Fair came to a close with the Sale of Champions livestock auction, and oh were there some champions. According to the Dispatch, 18-year-old Gerrett Davison raised the steer that sold for $80,000 that would have otherwise been sold to a slaughterhouse for $2,000. The teen will take home $21,000 of that money, but the rest will go toward creating scholarships and also backing breeding and showmanship programs in 4-H and Future Farmers of America, the paper reported.
