SWACO: After a searing review, some getting laid off
The policy and runnings of the Franklin County Landfill are getting overhauled after a review revealed the abuse of perks, overstaffed and immature nature of the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio. The inefficiency also impacts the costs for anyone in Franklin County who pays for trash disposal. According to the Dispatch there could be 10 employees laid off because of the review, and while many of the problems began while Executive Director Ron Mills was in charge (he was fired last year), the problems are still continuing since he left. Some layoffs took place Thursday and they are expected to continue Friday as well.
