Peace in Reynoldsburg

UPDATE: After more than two weeks of a teachers strike in Reynoldsburg, the union and district came to a tentative agreement Wednesday night. The agreement still had to be put in front of the entire union though and Thursday afternoon, the teachers voted in approval for the new contract. Class sizes, the key dispute, now have goals for the number of students with 25 students in for K-4, 32 for 5-8 and 35 for grades 9-12, according to NBC4. Officials have said there will not be school Friday so that teachers can get back into the classrooms.

Teaching again: Reynoldsburg has tentative agreement

Could the battle in Reynoldsburg finally be over? The union and the district have come to a tentative agreement as of Wednesday night. Thursday that agreement will be taken to the union as whole to vote on. “We did this for you, and we could not have done it without you. We heard your voices on the issues that matter most, and this agreement is a big win for our students. This agreement is a significant step forward on the most important issue facing our district, class sizes,” a statement from Kim Cooper, co-president of the union.
