The Peyton Manning effect helped Nationwide in NFL deal

Monday Columbus-based Nationwide Mutual Insurance announced a three-year sponsorship deal with the NFL, and Peyton Manning had a hand in it. While the company did sign the deal with the NFL, they signed a deal with Manning first (two months before) and that might have helped catapult them into better standing with the football league. “Signing Peyton Manning helped the NFL realize how serious we were in investing with them,” Matt Jauchius, chief marketing officer told Columbus Business First.  It also might help Nationwide ads to actually have Manning in a Broncos jersey.
