A new report released by the Columbus Foundation and the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation found that life expectancy, just among residents of Franklin County, could differ by as many as 20 years depending on varying factors. Expectancy ran from 64 to 71 for some groups and as high as 82 to 84 for others. Economic conditions and proximity / access to quality medical services seemed to play key roles in the findings. At present, Franklin County has more than 177,000 residents over the age of 65, the second-highest number of seniors in the state. The Columbus Foundation says that that, as high as that figure is, it is expected to double by 2040.  (jj)
