Hot Chicken’s North Market Takeover extended

Avatar

What once was temporary now looks to be permanent. Hot Chicken Takeover moved into the North Market in December for what was supposed to be a limited-time situation. But things have gone so well from HCT”s perspective and from the Market’s perspective that the two have agreed to extend that arrangement….for the next three years!

…HCT has been an overwhelming success during its six month pop-up. They have literally brought in and exposed thousands of guests to the market…

– Rick Harrison Wolfe, North Market Executive Director

Hot Chicken does plan a few changes including some upgrades to the kitchen, added check-out terminals for customers and hours will likely be expanded at some point down the line.  (jj)

Everyone loves HCT. It seemingly took over the town (pun intended) since its opening. Hot Chicken Takeover recently ran a successful campaign on Kickstarter for a mobile trailer to take their extra hot chicken on the road.

Their latest achievement: a pop-up spot in the North Market. The temporary opening is on the upstairs portion of the market in the NoMa Kitchen space. Their Olde Towne East location has a few more weeks until its last day on Nov. 23. Their North Market space will then soft launch in December, open on Friday and Saturday. “I have personally been following Joe and the buzz he has created with Hot Chicken Takeover not only in Columbus but nationally through
his Kickstarter campaign,” said North Market Executive Director Rick Harrison Wolfe in a release. “His story is inspiring and his business is local and best-in-class and that is what we are always looking for to
compliment the merchant mix at the market.”

The location in North Market will be temporary though as owner Joe DeLoss looks for a permanent location
