This week’s Big Give fundraiser was the most successful one yet. Reports are that the event raised more than $15 million. Money collected will benefit nearly 600 nonprofit organizations in Ohio. By comparison, the last Big Give (2013) raised just over $10 million.

“…this record-breaking giving rally illustrates how our community’s generous spirit is both contagious and transformative. This is a philanthropic phenomenon.”

Third time’s the charm

The Columbus Foundation is hoping that it can cash in for a third time. The foundation announced it’s bringing back The Big Give, a 24hr online-giving event that lets central Ohioans donate to (local) nonprofits. Its first and second drives in 2011 and 2013 raised a little over $19 million for 569 organizations. This year, you can donate to over 600 organizations starting May 12th at 10AM. And if you like to “give as good as you get,” their promotional partners like Jeni’s, Homage, and Piada will be giving out rewards for Big Give donors. (deb)
