Its another milestone in a life of milestones for a legend. Golf great Jack Nicklaus turns 75 today. Now a resident of Florida, Jack will always be considered a hometown hero. The Upper Arlington native and graduate of Ohio State is often called the greatest golfer ever…and his list of accomplishments would seem to back that claim:
- 6-time winner of the Masters Tournament
- 4-time winner of the U.S. Open
- 3-time winner of the British Open
- 5-time winner of the PGA Championship
- 73 career PGA wins
- 117 total victories worldwide
- 5-time PGA Player of the Year
- Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient (2005)
- Member of the PGA Professional Hall of Fame (2006)
- Member of the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame (1995)
- Founder of Muirfield Village and the Memorial Tournament
- Named Sports Illustrated’s Best Individual Male Athlete of the 20th Century
Add to all of this Jack’s efforts as a golf course designer, a winemaker, a philanthropist, a husband of 45 years (to his wife Barbara), a father of 5 and a grandfather of 22.
Happy Birthday, Jack Nicklaus! (jj)
