Blue Jackets begin 3-game road trip with win over Sharks

hockeypuckBeginning a 3-game road trip out West Tuesday night, the Blue Jackets came away with something that has eluded them most nights so far this season…a win.

Taking on the San Jose Sharks, Brandon Saad got the Jackets on the board first with his fifth goal of the season. San Jose would tie things up before the end of period one.

In the second period, the CBJ recorded scores from Scott Hartnell, Boone Jenner and Ryan Murray. (The Jenner and Murray goals came just 29 seconds apart.) San Jose added one to their total as well and the Jackets took a 4 -2 lead into the final period.

Matt Calvert added an empty-netter to seal the deal for Columbus, over the Sharks, 5 – 2.

The next game for the Jackets is Thursday night in LA vs the Kings.  (jj)
