Blue Jackets look (again) for season’s first win tonight

614now Staff

hockeypuckThe Columbus Blue Jackets are at home tonight hosting the New York Islanders. The hometown club is continuing the search for its elusive first win of the season. With six straight defeats to begin the 2015 – 2016 NHL campaign, CBS Sports is out with a piece examining the CBJ’s early woes from an historical perspective. Among their points:

  • Only 12 other teams in history have reached this point of the season without earning a point in the standings.
  • If they lose in regulation tonight, the Jackets will bring to just six the number of teams that have lost the first 7 games out of the gate.

These are facts that surely have not escaped the team’s notice. Maybe someone will pin these notes up in the locker room somewhere and they can serve as fuel to fire the boys on to their first win of the season.

The puck drops at Nationwide Arena tonight at 7pm. (jj)
