Braxton violation: NBD
No big deal.
A picture that turned up on the internet last month appeared to show Buckeye quarterback Braxton Miller endorsing AdvoCare nutritional supplements. The image showed Miller seated next to a display of the products along with an AdvoCare distributor. Ohio State reported the issue to the NCAA. (Student athletes, as you may have guessed. are not to endorse products.)
A statement from the university on Thursday said basically that the NCAA has reviewed the matter. They’ve determined that a minor violation was committed. No further action will be taken and Braxton Miller is cleared to play. Or in other words, “small foul, no harm.” (jj)
Previous 3/25/15: Ohio State considers possible Braxton Miller violation
A picture posted to Buckeye quarterback Braxton Miller’s instagram account this week has landed the player under scrutiny for a possible NCAA violation. The pic shows the senior QB seated next to a display of AdvoCare nutrition products and a distributor of the product.
The question is as to whether or not this constitutes Braxton Miller endorsing AdvoCare. If so, that is an obvious violation of NCAA rules.
The image was originally posted by a user named “authentikfitness” and was reposted (and later deleted) by Miller. Ohio State says that they are aware of the issue and that they are looking in to it. (jj)
